Butterflies, Rainbows, and Clouds!

It's February and *crafty goodness* is in the air!  Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday because I absolutely love the bright and airy designs that you see on Valentine's Day cards- especially on cards for kids.  I really wanted to whip up a fun design or two this year, so I persuaded one of my co-workers to allow me to create cards for two of his daughters to give to their classmates.  And let me tell you, that I had a *blast* creating these cards!

First up is Friendly Butterflies!

This 4X4 card features a Recollections patterned paper with colorful butterflies in cool blues, teals, and greens.  I complimented the patterned paper with the pretty butterfly on the Indie Art Cricut cartridge, cut in a bold plum.  I think the touch of coral in the mat really pulled the card together!  Sassy!

Up next is I Heart Rainbows and Clouds!

Another 4X4 card in pretty pinks and purple!  I found the rainbow paper by Recollections in my stash, where it's been hiding for a while and it was absolutely perfect for this card!  I ran the heart from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and then 'floated' it on the cloud cut from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.  I think it turned out great!  So pretty!

Finally, I wanted to do something a little different with the packaging for these cards.  So instead of the traditional envelope, I created wrap-around bands with themed establishments.  The 2" bands are wide enough to write on and slip on and off of the cards pretty easily.  I thought this was a unique touch and I really hope my co-worker's daughters like them!

Welp! There they are!  Two bright and fun V-day cards that I hope everyone will enjoy!  Now I'm not quite sure if it's 'persuasion' when you just kind of *tell* someone that you're going to make cards for them...but either way I appreciate my co-worker and his family for letting me get my Creative Daze fix! LOL

See you guys next time!  Thanks for stopping by!
