::NEW PROJECT:: A Baby Book!
Okay so here's my disclaimer: I am *not* a scrapbooker!! In any way, shape, or form!!
But with that being said, I wanted to share the little baby book I made for a friend!
I was gearing up to attend my co-worker's non-work baby shower and was thinking about a unique gift to give to her. I decided to surf YouTube for a while. Well, wouldn't you know it; a video on a hidden hinge binding popped up in my suggestion feed! After watching that video a couple of times, an idea started to form...what about a baby book?? But how was I supposed to make the book? Could I make the book? I'm a card maker not a scrapbooker-- could this be way out of my league?? Wait a second- what am I thinking-- I love a challenge!! So I watched another video on the binding and a video on making the cover, and decided to go for it. I had a few things to figure out, but I made it work!
I started off with 40 pt chipboard from Recollections, some card stock and a roll of Scor-tape. Following the directions in the videos, I was able to put together the hidden hinge binding and the book jacket for a 6X6 book. Believe it or not, that was the hard part...after I finished those- it was smooth sailing! I used my card making skills to create the book pages!
I created a total of 12 pages with a different theme on each page. I was trying to create a book that help her capture some of the special moments from her baby girl's first year. I know that a lot scrapbook artists are super talented and put all kinds of tags, pockets, and journaling opportunities in their scrapbooks, but my style is more clean and simple; and since this was my first attempt I didn't want to bite of more than I could chew...!
All in all, I think the baby book turned out pretty well! I liked making it so much that I can definitely see myself making more of these...!! We shall see! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you after the next Creative Daze!!
